A 20-year-old Sumner man was seriously injured in a crash Friday morning on Highway 139 in Chariton County, about 7 miles north of Sumner.

Construction crews plan to resurface the roadway from U.S. Highway 36 near New Cambria, Mo., to the Chariton County line. MoDOT officials believe the work will provide travelers with a safer ride.
