Ballad Health opens medical response unit in Erwin following flooding
ERWIN, Tenn. (WCYB) — Ballad Health has opened a medical response unit in Erwin after the flooding of Unicoi County Hospital. Ballad is working with the Unicoi County Emergency Operations Center, Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department, Madison County Fire Department and EMS from Jackson-Madison County in Western Tennessee.
Ballad Health: Everyone rescued from Unicoi County Hospital
All patients and personnel who were stranded at Unicoi County Hospital amid historic flooding have been rescued, according to Ballad Health. Ballad announced that as of 4:40 p.m., everyone had been successfully evacuated from the hospital.
More than 50 people were stranded at Unicoi County Hospital in Erwin, Ballad Health said in a Friday afternoon statement.
