The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame unveiled the 2025 nominees Wednesday morning, and Phish, which got its start at the University of Vermont in 1983, is vying for a spot. This is the first time the band has been nominated.

There are 14 nominees put forward as possible inductees to the institution this year, and eight of those are first-time nominees. Those are Bad Company, the Black Crowes, Chubby Checker, Joe Cocker, Billy Idol,

Mariah Carey, Chubby Checker, Cyndi Lauper, OutKast and Phish are some the 2025 nominees for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, a list that also includes two sets of musical brothers who have had public feuds and recent reunions — the Black Crowes and Oasis.
