The Native American Youth and Family Center in Northeast Portland hosted a marketplace ahead of Orange Shirt Day, honoring survivors and victims of residential schools while fostering healing through art and remembrance.

That is why the Lac Vieux Desert Tribe of Chippewa Indians hosted an Orange Shirt Day event. Orange shirts filled the event center of Northern Waters Casino. The crowd was there to honor and remember the Indigenous people forced to attend Native American boarding schools.
