A man is now in custody and charged with murder, aggravated assault and gun charges after a fight at a party led to gunfire. Gainesville police say Kendrick Deshaun Goss, 44, shot and killed Kendrick McClendin at a Texaco on Athens Street on Monday after an altercation at a party.

44-year-old Kendrick Goss is accused of shooting and killing Kendrick McClendin at a gas station on Athens Street Monday after an fight during a Superbowl party. A woman who was with McClendin is recovering after she was shot in the arm.

A Gainesville man has now been arrested in connection with a deadly shooting that happened on Athens Street early Monday morning. The Gainesville Police Department posted to social media Tuesday morning saying Kendrick Deshaun Goss, age 44, has been arrested on murder and aggravated assault charges in relation to the incident.

He remains in the Hall County Jail on multiple charges, including felony murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The department said in a Facebook post officers have closed Athens St. at West Ridge Rd. after they responded to a call for a shooting in the area early Monday morning. The male victim reportedly died at the scene while the female victim was transported for her injuries.
