Central Islip Fire Department's Chief of Department says more than 100 firefighters from multiple department battled the blaze on Hawthorne Avenue

Suffolk County firefighters are responding to an apartment fire in Central Islip. Fire dispatchers said the fire was reported at about 1:30 p.m. at an apartment complex on Hawthorne Avenue. An address listed for the fire included a unit in the Hawthorne Living apartment complex.
