Delhi Chief Minister Atishi on Monday claimed that she was prevented from meeting climate activist Sonam Wangchuk, who was detained at the Singhu border, by Delhi Police personnel at Bawana police station.

Atishi, after arriving at Bawana Police Station, criticised the Bharatiya Janata Party-led central government for arresting Wangchuk and his supporters.

Asserting that the people of Delhi stand with the people from Ladakh, she said that LG's rule should end in Ladakh and the national capital. "Ladakh and Delhi should get the status of a full-fledged state,

Sonam Wanchuk's supporters, who were also detained, have been kept at several other police stations at Delhi borders.

Sonam Wangchuk and close to 150 other activists from Ladakh were detained by Delhi Police for allegedly violating prohibitory orders, passed a few hours before they reached the border.
