Unlike the “Voice” Battles, where two teammates duet, contestants choose their own songs to sing solo during the Knockouts. The season 27 coaches — John Legend, Adam Levine, Kelsea Ballerini and Michael Bublé — have some hard decisions to make during this phase of the competition.

According to NBC’s official episode 9 press release information, this episode is going to feature part 1 of the Knockouts portion of this season. During the Knockouts rounds, the celebrity coaches/judges will pick three contestants from their team to sing off against each other by performing a solo number to a song of their choice.
