A civil engineering specialist has won the contract to build the 'substructure' for HS2's flagship station in Birmingham. A team of approximately 140 people will start the works in early 2025.

Aker Solutions' new build segment executive vice-president Sturla Magnus stated: "We are proud that Dragados Offshore has selected Aker Solutions as the contractor for the BalWin 1 steel substructure.
