Thousands of passengers in Paris and London were stranded Friday after the discovery of a World War II bomb on tracks leading to the Gare du Nord station halted traffic at France's busiest railway terminus.

The discovery of the unexploded WWII bomb outside of Paris caused all Eurostar traffic coming in and out of Gare du Nord station to be “completely halted,” the railway company told PEOPLE in a statement.
