The Pink Cloud is a Brazilian science fiction movie, which debuted at the Sundance Film Festival, that explores life in quarantine — yet it was written before the COVID pandemic.

About 15 or so minutes into “The Pink Cloud,” a kind of panic sets in for the viewer that is similar to the panic that Giovana and Yago are trying to keep at bay.

The rising Brazilian filmmaker’s “The Pink Cloud” opens with a notation that is both funny and painful. “This film was written in 2017 and shot in 2019.
