Google teamed up with LG to release the Nexus 5 -- the phone would briefly go on to set the Android world ablaze.

These days, many Android enthusiasts question why Google chose to kill the widely beloved Nexus line in 2016, in favor of a newly branded Pixel phones designed and manufactured by its own teams.

Google will likely unveil new Nexus devices at some point in late 2015, but the rumor mill has already started churning out reports about them, with particular focus on the Nexus 6 successor.
