A former North Dakota lieutenant governor has been named the interim president of Bismarck State College. Brent Sanford, who was Doug Burgum’s running mate in the 2016 and 2024 governor races, was appointed Thursday by the State Board of Higher Education.

BISMARCK — A former North Dakota lieutenant governor has been appointed as interim president of Bismarck State College. The State Board of Higher Education chose Brent Sanford to lead the college on an interim basis beginning Jan. 9, a North Dakota University System news release said.
