Lester Holt, longtime anchor and managing editor of "NBC Nightly News," announced Monday he will be stepping away from the broadcast at the beginning of the summer, the network reported.

Lester Holt will leave his position as “NBC Nightly News” anchor this summer, the primetime fixture announced Monday. Holt, 65, has anchored NBC’s tentpole broadcast since June 2015.
