On a busy travel day to Colorado's mountains, a crash involving at least eight cars has shut down westbound lanes of Interstate 70 in Clear Creek County.

A crash that shut down westbound Interstate 70 near Empire involved 11 vehicles, including a pickup truck pulling a livestock trailer.

Route 72 in New Britain reopened Tuesday evening after a three-car crash involving an ejection, according to state police. Serious injuries have been reported. Additional details were not immediately available.

Colorado State Patrol (CSP) received reports of a rollover crash on I-70 Monday afternoon. Troopers were dispatched to the scene at 12:14 p.m. going westbound on I-70 between the east Palisade and main Palisade exits.

A multi-vehicle crash on the I-70 Mountain Corridor forced the closure of the westbound lanes of the highway between US 40 and Georgetown, according to state department of transportation officials.
