MADRID — Spanish soccer player Hugo Mallo has been convicted of sexual assault for inappropriately touching a mascot before a La Liga game in 2019, court officials said on Thursday.

The court has ordered Mallo to compensate Ana with £844 plus interest. Additionally, he will be required to pay £8.44 per day for a period of 20 months, amounting to just over £5,000 ($6530).
