The pay TV distributors raised a red flag to a U.S. district judge over a bid to dismiss an earlier injunction against the sports streamer after a surprise merger of Disney’s Hulu + Live TV and Fubo.

The corporate maneuvering  over your sports viewing dollars may offer more drama than some of the games that you pay to watch. The streaming wars that have been bubbling under the surface of the TV business are now fully upon us.

Disney will own a 70% stake in the resulting company, and Fubo will retain a 30% share. Fubo's management will run the new company, while Disney will appoint the majority of the board of directors. Both brands will continue to operate as they are today.

In a surprising deal announced on Monday, Disney is set to combine its Hulu Live TV business with Fubo, the live TV streaming service known for its extensive sports coverage. Under the terms of the deal, Disney will own about 70% of Fubo, which will continue to be available to viewers as a separate offering.
