Today, Google, Facebook, Microsoft, and Twitter joined to announce a new standards initiative called the Data Transfer Project, designed as a new way to move data between platforms.

This will create a new ASP.NET Core API project in Visual Studio. We’ll use this project to work with Data Transfer Objects in the subsequent sections of this article.
