Currently, Instagram users can post up to 100 stories at once. However, with this new layout users have to tap a “Show All” button to see the rest of the Stories.

In a blog post, Instagram said the grid displaying your photos and videos won't change at all, but the icons above the grid could be changing to words (grid, posts, IGTV, tagged).

In Instagram's Nov. 12 blog post announcing the change, Adam Mosseri, head of Instagram, said the main focus of the update was to add a new Reels tab and Shop tab to the homepage.

The Californian firm's Layout app has four main features called Faces, Mirroring, Photo Booth and Previews. It lets people create collages with up to nine images and 11 combinations.

Phil Ricelle, a Brazilian Instagram user (via Tecnoblog), noticed that the Instagram app now only shows three of the Stories shared by other people. Users can currently post 100 Stories at once.
