Construction is now projected to begin in the summer of 2026 on the El Camino Real widening and bridge replacement project.
When complete, it will be a continuous 114-mile trail alongside the Truckee River from its source on the west side of Lake Tahoe in California to its end at Lake Pyramid northeast of Reno.
