Bugatti has announced a new speed record, this time set by the W16 Mistral. The Chiron-based roadster reached a top speed of 453.91 km/h (282 mph), becoming the fastest open-top car in the world.

Bugatti is said to be equipping the upcoming new Chiron with a speedometer that goes all the way up to 310 miles per hour - which it may actually need, considering that it's tipped to reach 290.
