The UI algorithm presented provides primary care physicians with limited UI experience with a tool that can be used for simplified assessment and evidence-based treatment of UI.

According to the ICI algorithm, patients with complicated UI should be identified during the history, general, or clinical assessment and should be referred for specialized management (Figure 1).
