SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — In his second event after returning from a lengthy absence, Jordan Spieth looked like his old self during the WM Phoenix Open on Thursday.

Outside of Tiger Woods’ Scotty Cameron Newport 2 GSS, Spieth’s trusty Scotty Cameron 009 is arguably the most recognizable putter attached to a pro. In good times and bad, Spieth’s 009 has found a way to hang around. (Spieth’s putter changes over the years were always short-lived.)

After being cold on the greens last season and putting poorly last week at Pebble Beach, the 3-time major winner made a change at TPC Scottsdale.
