Local immigrant rights groups plans protested at Tweed Airport Wednesday evening over Avelo Airlines’ announcement that it will fly deportation flights.

Avelo Airlines is under fire from local protestors. They were demonstrating at Tweed Airport on Thursday, upset that the carrier has agreed to fly deportation flights out of Arizona for the Trump administration.

The protest marked just the latest example of grassroots and official condemnation of the budget airline, alongside rebukes from Mayor Justin Elicker, State Sen. President Martin Looney, state Attornet General William Tong, and an online boycott campaign that has garnered more than 19,400 signatures (at last check.)
