More record-breaking cold temperatures are expected Tuesday night across western Washington. A Cold Weather Advisory remains in effect, with windchill readings near 10 degrees in spots. A gradual warming trend will continue over the rest of the week and into the President's Day holiday weekend.

Washingtonians awoke to a fresh coat of snow Wednesday, creating traffic problems. Seattle schools went to remote learning, with a two-hour delay.

It has been about four weeks of much cooler-than-average temperatures, going back to mid-January, but there is warmer weather coming to WA soon.

Several locations will likely see record low temperatures by Tuesday morning, and a Cold Weather Advisory is in effect till 10 a.m. Temperatures will moderate and return to near normal by the end of the weekend and early next week with a chance for showers.

There could be between 14 and 20 inches of snow (or more) accumulating over Stevens, Snoqualmie and White Passes between Friday and Saturday. If you plan on driving over the mountain passes during this two-day stretch, stay tuned to the forecast and check WSDOT conditions before you travel.
