Anil Ambani-run Reliance Group said on Wednesday it would jointly develop solar and hydro power projects in Bhutan along with the government's investment arm.

In partnership with Druk Holding and Investments Ltd (DHI), the commercial arm of the Bhutanese government, Reliance Enterprises—a newly established company under Reliance Infrastructure Ltd and Reliance Power Ltd—will lead the project.

Reliance Group said on Wednesday it would jointly develop solar and hydro power projects in Bhutan along with the government’s investment arm, reported the news agency Reuters. ;

The Anil Ambani-led Reliance Group will jointly develop 500 MW of solar and 770 MW of hydropower projects in the country

The partnership will prioritise green energy generation, focusing on solar and hydropower initiatives while also exploring innovative green technologies.

Reliance Group has set up a new company, Reliance Enterprises, to exclusively promote investment in Bhutan's renewable and green energy sector.

This will be the second board meeting after Reliance Power held one on September 23, 2024, with the board approving a ₹1,524.60 crore preferential issue

Anil Ambani’s Reliance Group said it’s partnered with Bhutan’s Druk Holding and Investments Ltd. to develop solar and hydro energy plants in the South Asian nation.

Anil Ambani-led Reliance Group is set to establish Bhutan's largest solar plant, surpassing all existing solar installations in the country. It will produce clean, renewable energy to help mitigate the impacts of climate change.
