Oxford Center CEO Tami Peterson was arraigned on a charge of second-degree murder Tuesday after a 5-year-old boy died in a hyperbaric chamber explosion at the facility earlier this year.

Dana Nessel will be announcing the arraignment for Tammi Peterson for second-degree murder and manslaughter charges. She is the center's founder and CEO, which owned and operated the chamber.

His mother was standing next to the hyperbaric chamber and suffered injuries to her arms when it exploded Jan. 31 at the Oxford Center in Troy.

Allegedly, neither a medical doctor nor a safety supervisor was at the medical facility when the chamber exploded.

The Michigan attorney general has accused the owner of a medical center and three of its employees of ignoring safety standards to make a profit.
