The Nvidia Shield refuses to die — gets a big update with new features
The last major Nvidia Shield update arrived in November 2022, with the company only releasing a few hotfixes since then. Even the last firmware, which arrived in October 2024, squashed some lingering bugs.

The NVIDIA Shield TV series enjoyed a great run of updates from the first Shield TV release back in 2015. That run ended in 2022, bar a hot-fix update last year. There’s good news, though, as NVIDIA has just issued a hefty update for its Android TV devices.

The only issue for some is that support for the aging streamer had seemingly ceased. Bar a few security updates, new software and features have been thin on the ground over the last few years.
