Local Democrat and GOP representatives in Monroe County are responding to the outcomes of the presidential and local race outcomes. As News 8 has reported, Democrats largely dominated the local elections with many incumbents defeating their Republican challengers.

Since the turn of the 21st century, Monroe County has consistently voted for the Democratic candidate for president. The closest contest came in 2004, with John Kerry edging then-President George W. Bush by less than 10,000 votes. The widest margin was in 2020, when voters favored Joe Biden by 80,000 votes.
