Mets top infield prospect won’t play in Spring Training
Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said that infielder Ronny Mauricio won’t play in any Spring Training games as he continues his recovery from ACL surgery (h/t Mike Puma of the New York Post ). He underwent the procedure last January and had another procedure in August to remove scar tissue.

On Sunday, Mets manager Carlos Mendoza revealed that he probably “misspoke” when he provided the mid-March timeline earlier in camp. Mauricio is “close,” Mendoza said, but he won’t be playing in spring games this year. “We’re (going) to continue to take him slow,” Mendoza said."
