A Powerball ticket sold in California won $28,258, but just missed the $48 million jackpot, lottery officials say. The ticket matched four of five winning numbers and the Powerball in the drawing Saturday, Jan. 25, the California Lottery said.

Prizes vary from $4 for the matching the Powerball to $1 million for matching all five white balls (except in California) to the jackpot for matching all six balls.
