Novak Djokovic now holds another Grand Slam record as he officially surpassed fellow tennis legend Roger Federer on Wednesday when he played the 430th major match in his career. After Djokovic's first-round match at the Australian Open on Monday, he tied Federer for the record.

Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray faced each other 36 times throughout their tennis careers, mostly in finals and often at the business end of a grand slam. But at this year’s Australian Open, their decades-long rivalry has taken an unexpected turn.

Novak Djokovic broke the record for the most Grand Slam singles matches played with his second-round victory over Jaime Faria at the Australian Open. Djokovic, a ten-time winner of the event, breaks a tie with former rival Roger Federer by clocking his 430th career Grand Slam encounter.
