‘Unfathomable:’ 8-year-old boy attacked, killed by 2 dogs near DeLand
DELAND, Fla. – An 8-year-old boy was killed by two dogs in Volusia County on Monday evening, according to a news release. Deputies said the attack was reported just before 5 p.m. in the area of Arabesque Drive and Airport Road, north of DeLand.
The Bridge in DeLand will open as a cold-weather shelter, and Halifax Urban Ministries on the eastside will coordinate places for people to stay.
If the dog owner does not give the county permission, once the 10-day quarantine passes the county will euthanize both dogs.
