Long before coming to Earth, the Transformers engaged in a Great War that stripped their planet of valuable resources and forged deadly rivalries.

Transformers One is offering a whole new take on the Transformers franchise, and with its new animated movie has fleshed out more of what Cybertron looked like before the war between the Autobots and Decepticons.

There’s more than meets the eye at the box office this weekend. Paramount and Hasbro’s “Transformers One,” the franchise’s first fully animated film since 1986, has made $3.36 million in Thursday previews at the box office.
