Arkansas State Police officials are providing more information on an investigation into a deadly officer-involved shooting that happened in Maumelle over the weekend.

When officers tried taking the man, identified as 34-year-old Benjamin Prowell of Conway, into custody, he allegedly pulled out a knife. Officers discharged their weapons and hit Prowell.

A Conway man was killed in an officer-involved shooting in Maumelle on Saturday, the Arkansas State Police (ASP) Criminal Investigation Division reported on Monday.
