An old house that Mary Queen of Scots stayed at is now a small museum dedicated to her. There are several exhibits and lots of info about her. Well worth a visitFull review by KingOfTheNorth99

Google “bus Edinburgh to Jedburgh” - I think it’s a 51 and goes every 2 hours but I suspect it might be quite expensive! An alternative is to get the Waverley Line train to the end of the line (beyond Galashiels) then get a local bus. Is Mary Queen of Scots house worth all expense & a day travelling there and back? I’d suggest No. Add the abbey and you might have a day trip.
