In general, Early March will have the magnolia and other flowers in bloom through April. However, March also brings visits from college students on their spring breaks (many southeastern colleges party in the panhandle). Lodging, hospitality and other services have higher prices and longer than usual wait times. I haven't found these "partiers" crowding the park. Photographs in the early or evening hours are the most dramatic...home tours...plan on no tours during their lunch break(only one or two people work the house area). Weekdays are less crowded. Many restaurants (within 10 mi.) have weekday specials after 3:00/Happy Hours.
Q:
Which is the best day and time to visit in March and April
A:
The mansion has the guided tours Thursday-Monday. The tours are on the hour from 10 am until 3 pm. There should not be any problem with crowds and is worth the trip out there.
