Chetumal Bay is a semi-closed mesohaline estuary on the southern coast of the Yucatán Peninsula. It is located in northern Belize and southeastern Mexico. The mouth of Chetumal Bay is directed southward and buffered by the large Belizean island of Ambergris Caye.
