for Monet lovers this is a must stop on the edge of the 16th eme. This is the museum that is home to Impression Sunrise, the Monet painting that gave the Impressionist movement its name. The museum…Full review by tyjlevine

I tried to buy tickets on the Musee Marmottan Monet website for late Sept. 2023, and the dates from Sept. 17 through the end of Sept. were blocked off. Will the museum be closed at that time? It appears I can buy tickets at other ticket vendors online. I just want to make sure the museum will be open then. Thank you.

Do I need to buy a ticket ahead of time?

We visited in May, went the last hour the museum was open. Purchased our tickets on site with no problem. Agree that if it is peak season, booking ahead is probably a good idea.

I am unaware of an online purchase but you can buy this combination ticket by visiting the Marmottan museum first and when you get there ask for a combination ticket with Giverny. This is a better option as the line ups at the Marmottan are much shorter. I do not advise going to Giverny without a ticket. If you go to the Marmottan half an hour before it opens you will not have to wait. You can then go straight downstairs to the basement and enjoy the glorious Monet's without the crowds. You do not have to use the Giverny ticket straight away. It is an open ticket valid for at least a couple of weeks.
